Practice

We are all born "pure."  Yet, in our lives, we have learned  things that prevent us from seeing this simple truth. "Practice" is there to un-learn what we have learnt in our lives and re-learn the way to approach our lives with more love and compassion for ourselves and others.

Master Chunyi Lin said, "Love is a technique. Happiness needs practice."  Love, Forgiveness, Kindness with Compassion are not just notions, but actions and skills we need to cultivate. We need to practice in order to become a being that we aspire to be.

Classes and Workshops

Spring Forest Qigong

Spring Forest Qigong (SFQ) is a simple, efficient and effective method to help healing and restoring one’s physical, emotional and spiritual health.

Qigong is a Chinese energy healing method, which has been around over 7000 years. Through balancing one’s vital energy (Qi), Qigong helps the practitioners to heal physical and emotional pain.

Spring Forest Qigong was created by Master Chunyi Lin, a internationally certified Qigong master and teacher from China. Master Lin has studied with many Qigong masters in China. He created Spring Forest Qigong with his belief that "Everyone is Born a Healer."

Gadu has been studying Spring Forest Qigong (SFQ) since 2008. His practice began when he found a SFQ Level 1 DVD in his home and started practicing with it. Within a few minutes, he felt energy rushing into his body and he was astonished. Since then, he has been studying Spring Forest Qigong with Master Lin and his students.

In 2017, Gadu was given a title of  Spring Forest Qigong Master and Master Teacher by Master Chunyi Lin.  He currently works at Spring Forest Qigong Healing Center as a Staff Qigong Healer/Instructor.

Doushin Butoh - 道心舞踏

Butoh is a contemporary Japanese performance art form that began in late 1950's. Originally started as an anti-establishment, anti-traditional dance theater, Butoh explores the relationship between our mind and body, and it questions our soicety's perceptions of the body and the ideas of "beauty."  Though it is considered as a underground art form, Butoh is practiced all over world.

Gadu has been practicing Butoh since 2005. He has studied Subbody Butoh with Rhizome Lee in Dharamsala, India from 2007 to 2012. He became a Certified Butoh Instructor in 2012  from Subbody Butoh Foundation.

As Gadu's understanding of Qigong and Butoh developed, he realized that Butoh can be taught not only as a performance art form, but as a spiritual practice or moving meditation technique.  Doushin Butoh was created to deepen our understandings of the relationship with ourselves and everything around us. Using physical methods of Subbody Butoh and energetic understandings of Spring Forest Qigong, a Doushin Butoh practitioner will experience everything in the Universe as a form of "Resonance," which one feels as physical sensations.  Being guided by these sensations, the practioner lets his or her body move without restrictions.

These movements are unique to each body and can help to release physical and emotional blockages in the body.  You can "perform" these movements or simply practice as a healing movement method.

Doushin Butoh Workshop

Doushin Butoh Workshop is a regular class offered throughout year.  During the workshop, the students are guided into a meditative state and they explore infinite possibilities within their bodies.

In this workshop, we will deepen our understanding of Resonance, through spiritual practices of Spring Forest Qigong, Buddhism and Taoism.

In the state of our daily consciousness, our body is bound by Dualism, such as righ/left, up/down, me/you, and right/wrong, which creates boundaries around us and helps us to have a sense of reality and identity. Yet our daily consciousness can also limit our creativity.

Through movement meditation, we go into a state of "Emptiness," where all the dualistic concepts and boundaries disappear, and we resonate with the Universal Energy (Tao), which manifests as physical movements. In the state of Emptiness, we can transform the energy to heal our body, mind and spirit and help to heal others. We can also tap into infinite possibility and creativity.

This workshop is for those who have completed Introduction to Doushin Butoh Workshop or instructor's permission required.
